

It was no more PvE than any other asymmetric game mode.

Yeah…whomever is insisting that Starwatch had PvE elements because of a single AI player and a handful of turrets needs to just not be in charge of describing things ever, because it’s nonsense.

And that’s the least of what they deserve. What they did guaranteed that the people who feel cheated will never believe them ever again, likely will not spend any money on their products, and will forever be a source of negative press for them. Saying you get nothing after nearly 3 years of essentially radio silence about the subject is not okay, and letting them get away with it is even less okay. They decided one year later to pull the plug, but had they instead given people talent trees for, say, 12 heroes with a roadmap to produce more, people would be more forgiving. Remember, they showed full talent trees for multiple heroes in 2020. Instead, they obfuscated that they were drastically slashing the PvE, refusing to talk about it until well after people had already been reeled in, and refusing to even partially meet the original vision. Yep, with as much as they had shown in 2020, if even part of what they worked on had been released with honest communication, people would be more forgiving.
